Black Girls Do STEM (BGDSTEM) Launches Quarterly Networking Series for Black, Early-Career, and Women in STEM

2/15/2026

What:
Black Girls Do STEM (BGDSTEM) announces the launch of its Quarterly Professional STEM Networking Mixer, a professional networking and fundraising series connecting Black, early-career, and women STEM professionals through corporate ERGs and community partners across the St. Louis region with BGDSTEM Alumni and college aged youth. These mixers are accompanied by our Inaugural STEM legacy award.

Annually for Black History Month and Women’s History Month Black Girls Do STEM creates digital marketing campaigns highlighting the legacy of Blacks and women in STEM, this year we are taking it a step further and honoring local STEM trailblazers.  Nominees will be featured in our digital campaign and put in the running to be awarded a STEM legacy Award for being a trailblazer in STEM. Awardees will be selected by our student selection committee of K-12 youth and alumni.

Why It Matters:
The series strengthens regional STEM networks, expands mentorship and career access, and raises funds to support hands-on STEM education and career pathways for Black girls in grades 6–12 in the Black Girls Do STEM programs.

Why ERGs Should Sponsor:
Corporate ERGs gain:

  • High-visibility community engagement tied to STEM equity
  • Professional development and networking opportunities for members
  • Direct mentorship and early-talent pipeline connections
  • Recognition as STEM leaders in DEI and community impact

Who Should Attend:

  • Black, early-career, and women STEM professionals and allies
